Plan to stay in Big Timber the night before your hunting, fishing or pack trip begins. Big Timber is right off Interstate 90 half way between Bozeman and Billings. We recommend either The Grand Hotel (www.thegrand-hotel.com) or the Super 8 Motel. The Grand Hotel Bed and Breakfast is a charming and beautifully renovated historical hotel in downtown Big Timber. The hotel serves a delicious full breakfast. The Super 8 Motel has comfortable rooms with small refrigerators and serves a light breakfast. For a heartier breakfast, the Country Skillet is across the street from the Super 8 and opens for breakfast at 6:00 AM. The morning of your departure an ABO representative will meet you at your hotel at 7 AM to transport you to the trailhead. Please check in with ABO upon arrival (406) 579-3866 for confirmation of morning departure time.

The service is usually very good into Bozeman. However, this is a college town, home to Montana State University, so make your reservations early. We recommend the Wingate Inn (406-582-4995). They provide shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. The Inn has a breakfast bar that opens at 5:30 each morning, comfortable rooms, pool and exercise facility. For reduced rates refer to our VIP CODE (ABO) when making reservations. Make your reservations early. The summer is a busy time for tourists while the fall is filled with college related activities.
Bozeman is a delightful old western town with great restaurants, wonderful art galleries, the Museum of the Rockies and many other fun places to visit. If you can make the time, come a day or two early or stay over a day after your ABO trip to enjoy some of what Bozeman has to offer.
Travel Arrangements - Greater Yellowstone Area Hunts
Guests Driving:
From Bozeman take Interstate 90 East to Livingston. From Billings take
Interstate 90 West to Livingston. Take Exit 333 off I-90 at Livingston. This is the
Yellowstone/Gardiner /Hwy 89 South Exit. Head south on Highway 89 to Gardiner. The drive
from Bozeman to Gardiner is about 1 hour and 45 minutes. The drive from Billings to Gardiner
is about 3 hours. You will be staying at the hunting lodge the night before your hunt begins.
Directions to the Hunting Lodge: When you arrive in Gardiner stay on Hwy 89/Scott Street.
You will turn left onto Fourth Street. A good land mark on the right will be a convenience store
and Cenex Station called Kremer's. Fourth Street is before the Yellowstone River Bridge. After
you turn onto Fourth Street you will take an immediate right onto Jardine Road. You will see a
wooden sign that says North Yellowstone B&B. You will also see a sign that says Jardine 5
miles. Continue up the mountain on Jardine Road 2.5 miles. Turn right at the sign that says
North Yellowstone B&B. Follow the road till you see a house and cabins.

Guests Flying:
Fly into the Bozeman International Airport (BZN) the day before your hunt
begins. Please schedule your flight so you arrive at the Bozeman airport by early afternoon.
You will still have an hour and forty five minute drive to Gardiner. Most of the major car rental
agencies are available at the Bozeman International Airport. If you are not renting a car we will
provide you with shuttle service from the Bozeman Airport to the hunting lodge in Gardiner and
return you to the airport in Bozeman at the end of your trip. The cost of this service is $200
round trip per vehicle. (Example – If we are picking up 4 clients and their gear in one vehicle,
the cost would be $50 round trip per person. If we are picking up 1 client, the cost would be
$200 round trip for that one client.)

breakfast but not before 8:00 am. It has a well-stocked vintage bar which
serves lunch and dinner. But for those with a "grander" palette it sports a
fabulous restaurant that serves delicious gourmet dinners. The dining room is
very popular so be sure to make a reservation.

The Super 8 Motel has comfortable rooms with small refrigerators and serves a
light breakfast. For a heartier breakfast, the Country Skillet is across the street

Timber is 90 miles, driving time 1½ hours.

Directions from Billings: Go west on Interstate 90 to Columbus; at Columbus go south on 78 to Roscoe. Driving time from Billings to the ranch is approximately 1.5 hours. Directions from Bozeman: go east on Interstate 90 to Columbus; at Columbus go south on 78 to Roscoe. Driving time from Bozeman to the ranch is approximately 3.5 hours. All hunting reservations for the Lazy E-L Ranch are made through Absaroka-Beartooth Outfitters.
